Greenroom @ IDS Vancouver
Greenroom is an immersive installation that reimagines the hotel lobby as a threshold between city and nature. Rooted in a distinctly Vancouver context, the space layers natural textures, ferns, and light to create a moment of pause and calm for guests and visitors. More than a lobby, it is conceived as a place for gathering, reflection, and connection.
The conventional lobby program is distilled to its essentials—wayfinding, circulation, and transition. Seating, dining, and check-in are abstracted into monolithic stone forms, establishing a deliberate contrast between hard and soft, and between the constructed and the organic.
Presented at IDS West 2025 as part of the Night and Day feature, the installation explores evolving notions of hospitality. Jenny and David were invited as keynote speakers, sharing the project’s conceptual framework and design intent.
