Island Cabin (Conceptual Concepts)

The Island Cabin explores compact, remote living through a flexible, small-scale dwelling. Designed as a self-contained unit, it can function independently or as part of a larger cluster, supporting a range of uses from guest accommodation to extended residential stay.

The form of the larger cabin is defined by a long, linear volume, with entry at one end and a fully glazed façade at the other to frame outward views. Extended side walls provide privacy to an adjacent patio, which includes an outdoor bath and sheltered exterior space. The smaller cabins include similar features within a smaller footprint.

The interior is organized along a stepped floor plan that responds to the sloped site, increasing ceiling height within the primary living area. A wood stove anchors this space, reinforcing its role as the central gathering point. The linear arrangement supports an efficient layout, with the primary corridor accommodating multiple functions and contributing to the overall spatial clarity of the design.
