Lola Restaurant
Situated within Bodega Ridge Resort on Galiano Island, this intimate restaurant is designed to evoke warmth and social connection. Perched along the upper hillside, the dining room is shaped by natural light, with copper surfaces that catch and reflect sunlight, subtly animating the interior throughout the day.
Material expression is grounded in the local context. Douglas fir veneer is used extensively, forming the service counter and introducing a quiet, tactile warmth. Layered wood slats define thresholds within the space—simultaneously revealing and concealing activity, and creating a sense of depth and movement across the dining room.
The culinary concept informs the spatial experience. Lola centers on Southeast Asian flavours, drawing from locally sourced seafood and produce from the resort’s farm. The menu emphasizes shared dining, with fire-driven cooking techniques that reinforce the restaurant’s social and atmospheric character.
Operating seasonally, the restaurant opens on select weekends through the summer, primarily hosting private events and weddings, with regular service beginning in early fall.
