Warfield Residence

Located in Warfield, British Columbia, this project involves a full renovation and extension of an existing wartime home. The design maintains the original scale and architectural language to align with the character of the surrounding neighbourhood, while significantly improving the building’s thermal performance.

The extension introduces an asymmetrical form that contrasts the symmetry of the existing structure, alongside updated window proportions and high-performance glazing to enhance interior daylighting and exterior connection. Material and colour variations distinguish the new intervention from the original building, while maintaining a cohesive overall composition.

Performance upgrades include insulated concrete forms (ICF) at the basement level, continuous exterior insulation at above-grade walls, and a ventilated roof assembly, contributing to a more efficient and durable building envelope.
